Justin Hienz is a writer and editor working with public and private sector clients on a variety of issues and projects. Whether ghostwriting content, drafting reports or developing strategy, Hienz’s writing style is clear, concise and cogent. He has a particular familiarity with the air cargo and logistics industry, as well as homeland security and the federal government. His current work includes: providing content for a major U.S. airline website; memoir writing for a former congressman; communications strategy for a federal agency; and several other projects.

Previously, Hienz was a Senior Account Executive at Adfero Group, a Washington, DC-based public affairs firm. There, he worked primarily with clients in the homeland security realm, developing and executing communications strategies for national initiatives. Prior to his work with Adfero, Hienz was the lead writer and editor for a security consulting firm. Based in the Middle East, Hienz wrote and edited security strategy, wrote speeches and proposals, and gave consultation to leadership in a critical infrastructure protection government agency.

His experience also includes writing and editing for National Public Radio, as well as several newspapers and magazines. He is managing editor for Security Debrief, a blog on homeland and national security, and holds Master of Arts degrees in journalism and religious studies from the University of Missouri.
